A few summers ago I realized the products I was using were no longer working with skin, to be fair I had been using the same face wash and face cream since 6th grade (I wish I was kidding, we’re talking like 8-9 years). I shopped around a ton and took samples from so many different skin care lines but wasn’t finding anything I really liked let alone loved.
I came across Kiehl’s in my search and started out with a face wash and spot treatment to test out among a few samples of their other products. After testing them out and really loving them, I decided that I wanted to invest in some of the products. Over the past year and a half I have tried out and purchased a number of their products and have only had an issue with one (unfortunately I was allergic to an ingredient in one of the eye creams and after having it for months they let me exchange it for a different one).
Just a little background on Kiehl’s, they have been around since 1851 (168 years) and their products are inspired by their apothecary roots. Click here if you want to read more about their ingredients and heritage so I don’t bore you in this post.
So now, on to what you came here for, what products I use! For reference, I have dry/normal skin. I tend to be more dry but can sometimes be oily in the summer months but I don’t consider my skin combo really. I have pretty sensitive skin so I don’t like to use anything to harsh. I have not found any of their products to be harsh on my skin whatsoever.
Just a small disclaimer, I do realize these products are on the expensive side but I don’t mind investing in these products because I love what they do for my skin!
Face Wash: Kiehl’s Cucumber Herbal Conditioning Cleanser
Super gentle for sensitive skin, helps remove makeup for anyone who is super lazy like I am and doesn’t usually remove makeup before washing their face!
Toner: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Toner or Tea Tree Water by Lush
I recently switched from using the Lush Tea Tree Water to the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Toner. So far, I love it! It is a little thicker than the Tea Tree Water, which is more of a mist. I like the Lush toner for freshening up and am thinking it might still be nice for the summer time because it’s lighter. I mainly switched because I had a sample of the toner, liked it, and wanted my face cream and toner to match (ridiculous I know).
Serum: Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texurizing Serum Concentrate
This serum is light weight and makes your skin super soft and bouncy.
Cream: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream and Monat Rejuvenique
Absolutely love this cream, it’s the best. Leaves skin very hydrated. I like to add just one drop of the Rejuvenique oil to my cream for extra moisture (my skin gets more dry in the winter). Although, the cream alone provides plenty of moisture!
Concentrate: Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate
Eye Cream: Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye
Along with the toner, I recently started using the Midnight Recovery Concentrate (this product is like an oil) because I had a sample of it, and I loved it. This is best for night time, hence the name. I use this as a moisturizer at night and when I wake up my skin is super soft and hydrated. The Midnight Recovery Eye, I have been using for awhile now and it helps to brighten and hydrate the under eyes and orbital bone area. Never to early to help to prevent wrinkles, amiright?
Spot Treatment: Kiehl’s Breakout Control Targeted Acne Spot Treatment
I tend to have small breakouts once or twice a month so I’ll use this as a spot treatment before bed. It does the trick when needed!
Sample: Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Eye-Opening Serum
I wanted to include this because I have used it the last two days and have really liked it! I got this sample from Kiehl’s and its a great day time eye serum. I’m going to finish this second sample pack and will probably be purchasing in the future. This was also recommended to me by a friend who loves it!
Makeup Remover: Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes (does anyone not use these?)
When I wear a lot of makeup I’ll use these. I usually buy the blue package but I couldn’t find them at the drugstore. These ones are 97% natural and cruelty free so thats a plus.
If you have any questions about these products or want more information on how I use them, feel free to ask me! I linked all of the products for your convenience if you wanted to check them out. Like I said, these have been working great with my skin and I started using the majority of them a little over a year and a half ago. Kiehl’s has different products for all skin types and you can search by “concern” or “skin type” on their website! You can go to one of their stores and ask to test out products and they have a bunch of samples as well.
Leave me a comment with any skin care recommendations or what you love to use. Hope you enjoyed this post!
